Kenpo Kinenbi : Japanese Constitution Day
75Constitution Memorial Day
Kenpo Kinenbi is celebrated in Japan on 3 May each year. It is a national holiday and a part of the Golden Week in Japan.
Japan adopted a new constitution, after the end of WW II, on May 3, 1947. Constitution Memorial Day is an occasion for the Japanese people to reflect on the laws of the land.
It also happens to be the only day in the year when the Japanese Parliament - National Diet Building/Kokkai-Gijido - is open to the general public.
